DTF transfers, also known as Direct-to-Film transfers, use specialized printers to apply ink onto a thin film which is then backed by an adhesive powder. The adhesive-backed ink is then transferred onto garments using a heat press machine, resulting in vibrant and long-lasting prints.
The design is printed onto a transfer paper using silk screen printing with plastisol ink, then the paper is placed on the desired material and pressed with a heat press to transfer the image. This is very similar to traditional screen printing, but more effective for small orders.
A method of applying designs onto fabric or other surfaces using a special type of vinyl called "heat transfer vinyl" (HTV), which adheres to the material when heat is applied with a heat press or iron, essentially transferring the design onto the surface
